This class is geared towards children. Parents are welcome to sign up and participate alongside their child. Children older than 8 years old please.

TOPICS:
Handbuilding with clay; including pinch pots, coil building, and slab work. Opportunity every class to try using the wheel. Investigate a variety of different decorating techniques, including: slip, texture, underglazes, and sgraffito.
SAMPLE PROJECTS:
The following are to give an idea of what projects are made. Because of our small class size we allow a lot of flexibility in what the students choose to make and we may stray from these topics based on the people's interests.
Pinch and sculpt a garden creature and its home (week 1); make a large coiled serving bowl (week 2); small platter with focus on decorating using stamps, sprigs and sgraffito (week 3); investigate working in multiples making wind chimes or bells (week 4); make a small cake stand using slabs (week 5); thinking small make some serving spoons, beads, and magnets (week 6), final glaze and finish all work (week 7).
COST (per person):
Classes cost $320 + hst (total $361.60) for 7 weeks. Materials, access to studio tools, clay (1 bag), glaze, and firing are included. Additional bags of clay can be purchased for $40 and include glaze and cost of firing.
